The Society for Conservation Biology (SCB), a UQ Union affiliated club, is an international professional organization dedicated to promoting the scientific study of the phenomena that affect the maintenance, loss, and restoration of biological diversity. The Society’s membership comprises a wide range of people interested in the conservation and study of biological diversity such as resource managers, educators, government and private conservation workers and students.

SCB UQ Brisbane acts as a local chapter of the global society. We focus our efforts on conservation issues within the South East Queensland area. Our activities include restoration projects and policy submissions, we also collaborate with other local conservation organisations to build the skill sets of our members and facilitate active participation in science based conservation projects.

If you would like to become a member or get involved in any SCB UQ Brisbane chapter activities please email [email protected] or alternatively visit our website http://scbuq.weebly.com/
