An active and energetic social club supporting the campaign for an Australian republic and having heaps of nonpartisan fun doing so!

The UQ Australian Republic Club, a UQ Union affiliated, club exists to provide a social community and forum for the promotion of republican ideals among the student body. We wish to serve as a bridge between the national organisation and the university. We seek to campaign for and promote a republic in all political circles at the university. We value the republic as a nonpartisan issue that Australians from all sides can bring themselves to support.

We hold our own exciting and unique social events packed with a friendly and lively group of student members, as well as events held in collaboration with other societies and individuals both internal and external to the university.

We aim to immerse ourselves in and emphasise the benefits of our diverse and colourful national culture, with this being a key theme of the club.

The types of events we hold include welcome events, parties, guest speakers, forums, debates, barbecues and other activities unique to the club! The club serves as a great way to begin your involvement in the political scene and meet independent people and supporters from all sides.
