Chemical and Environmental Engineering Student Society (ChESS)

Faculty: School of Chemical Engineering/ Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology
Interests: Engineering, Networking, Socialising
Membership Fees: $5-$10

ChESS offers chemical engineering students the best opportunity for professional development.

With networking dinners, seminars, information evenings, and more, we help to connect students with vacation and graduate placements in their desired fields.

On top of this, ChESS members are heavy socialisers, and we hold launch parties, pub crawls, smokos, our annual ball, and more, every year. We also sign up loads of netball, basketball, touch rugby, and rugby teams in the interfaculty sporting competitions.

ChESS has been an award winner or finalist for Club of the Year, Ball of the Year, Pub Crawl of the Year, President of the Year, Secretary of the Year, Social Convenor of the Year, Networking Event of the Year, and Video of the Year consistently from 2014 to 2016.

Our tight-knit community always has room for more members to join. If you are new to engineering or from another faculty entirely, sign up today to get the most out of your UQ experience!

ChESS is a UQ Union affiliated club
