JATL, a UQ Union affiliated club, is a student society that aims to promote student discussions about the intersection between the law and social justice, whilst providing opportunities for professional networking and career development.

We host a diverse range of events throughout the year. Our Social Justice Team has a rich tradition of delivering two Social Justice Forums each semester. These forums aim to facilitate discussion about topical legal issues. The team also organise our Social Justice Gala. Last year the Gala raised over $10,000 for the Women’s Legal Service Queensland in support of their efforts to combat domestic violence. This year our Careers Team will be launching our Beyond Eagle Street programme. This event series will emphasise networking with barristers, magistrates and judge’s associates, exploring mid-tier, boutique and rural firms, as well as government and in-house departments, among many other legal career avenues. We also produce an annual academic journal Pandora’s Box and an online blog Pandora’s Blog, both of which are accessible via our website.

Our next major events are our Welcome Dinner and International Women's Day Forum, we hope to see you there!
