UQ Malaysian Students' Association (UQMSA)

The University of Queensland Malaysian Students’ Association (UQMSA) is an official and non-profit student body based at the UQ St. Lucia campus. With close to 600 members each academic year, UQMSA hosts the largest number of Malaysian students in Queensland as well as students from various ethnic backgrounds.

UQMSA strive to follow the 3 pillars of ‘empowerment, cultural and social’ when organising around 30 events each year to forge and strengthen friendships between Malaysians within and between universities, creating a strong community presence in Brisbane. UQMSA aims to foster a greater understanding of the Malaysian cultures among members and the UQ community, and most importantly, to provide maximum benefit and support to Malaysian students who are away from home.

UQMSA operates in the UQ St. Lucia campus and is affiliated to the Malaysian Student Council of Australia Queensland Division as well as UQ Union.

UQMSA primarily aims to bring UQ students from diverse backgrounds together by promoting Malaysian culture through fun-filled social and cultural activities, besides bringing together those of us away from home.

UQMSA welcomes ALL students and non-students alike to join us. Come together in a true Malaysian spirit and enjoy our array of activities and the awesome Malaysian food that will accompany. From barbeques to surfing trips, to famous Malaysian cuisines like Nasi Lemak and Satay, we hope to see you there!
