UQu Women's Collective
WHAT IS THE UQU WOMEN’S COLLECTIVE?
The UQU Women’s Collective is an autonomous group on campus. Non-affiliated with any political party, external organisation or values-driven belief, we are made up of people on the UQ campus passionate about feminism and gender equality, and critical of the patriarchy.
In 2016, we have a plethora of events coming up – from our annual International Women’s Day Breakfast (on Tuesday March 8), to Feminist Week (in Week 6 of each Semester), Safer Sex Week and Blue Stockings Week, to faculty events, to monthly engagement events, social events and movie nights!
Any person on campus can get involved in the UQU Women’s Collective by joining our online newsletter, coming along to meetings and events, or even joining our 2016 UQU Women’s Collective Committee! You can find out more on our website: https://womynews.wordpress.com/
HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER?
All women students of UQ are automatically members of the UQU Women’s Collective! If you’d like to be involved, you can join up to our Facebook group. To find out meeting times during Semester 1, 2015 join the Facebook group or visit this page.
WHO ARE THE CURRENT EXECUTIVES?
The UQU Women’s Collective has a flat line structure. That means that we don’t have a hierarchy of leadership, and that anyone is welcome to get involved and contribute to planning and running events. Major decisions are made through discussion and voting if necessary.
The UQU student executive member in charge of funding for the UQU Women’s Collective is Amy Jelacic – she’s your first point of contact if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
