As the largest food & beverage provider at the University of Queensland, we are committed to reducing plastic footprint on campus, and eventually ceasing the use of single-use plastics at our existing UQU owned and operated outlets.
In another significant step, UQU have recently removed single use, plastic cutlery from all of our outlets. This came into effect in January this year at On A Roll Bakery, Darwin’s, Pizza Caffe, REDROOM, Main Course, and Lolly Shop.
The removal of plastic cutlery from our outlets will save over 443,300 pieces of plastic cutlery going to landfill.
As part of this transition to sustainable options, reusable bamboo cutlery packs are now available for sale at all UQU outlets. For just $14.95 you a set of bamboo cutlery including a spoon, fork, knife and chopsticks plus a handy travel pouch. Plus, UQU Mates Rates members get 10% off!
