The Saudi Students Association at UQ has three aims:
1. Contribute to creating a positive and social environment to help current Saudi students and their families to achieve their academic and non-academic goals.
2. Create an experience transfer link between prospective, current and graduated students.
3. Introduce the culture of Saudi Arabia to UQ students and getting to know the custom and traditions of others students.
The Saudi Students Association’s activities at UQ target three groups: current Saudi students and their families, future students, and UQ students and staff. The first aim is to help current Saudi students by creating a positive and social environment that would make their academic and non-academic goals achievable. The first aim can be achieved by utilizing UQ resources in creating sport, social, academic or non-academic skills training events for society members. Also, the association will create several activities that will support students academically, psychologically, and socially. The second aim is designed to help prospective UQ students who need to learn more about the university or Brisbane in general. Also, they may need some help upon their arrivals related to housing and bank account…etc. The association will create an experience transfer link between prospective, current and graduated students to answer future students’ academic and non-academic inquiries. The final aim is to introduce Saudi Arabian culture to other students and learn their customs and traditions. This aim can be achieved by participating in UQU events such as a market day or inviting others to join society’s social events such as the Saudi Arabia national-day or Eid celebration.
