Students pursuing a Bachelor of Agriculture Science can join the UQ Agricultural Science Society. We provide extracurricular networking and learning activities to ensure that you graduate from UQ with a comprehensive understanding of the agricultural industry.
The students that run this society display a passion for agriculture with the mindset that agricultural studies are so much bigger than the classroom. We strive to uphold the quality of our graduating Ag. students, therefore, our role within the committee is to devise extracurricular activities that allow Ag. science students to further develop their knowledge and their image within the agriculture industry.
An annual event we hold is a night we call “Beers and Careers”. This night is set up in the form of speed dating but instead of romance we have networking. The night allows students to connect with industry leaders by breaking that awkward barrier.
We also are regularly trying to attend industry events that broaden students networking and encourage them to purse a career in an area they are interested in. For example we put on a bus that took us to a feedlot in Condamine that took us on a tour around their business processes.

Do you have an event that I would be suited to the area of Agriculture I am interested in?
We always consider that we are dealing with agronomy, horticulture and animal science students so we make sure we can have an event that is suited to each one of these areas through out the year.
