UQ Drawing Club (UQDC)

The UQDC is a casual social art club open to all. We hold regular drawing events such as still life, landscape and life drawing sessions fortnightly on Wednesday afternoons from 4pm - 6pm.

The UQ Drawing Club aims to promote the practice and appreciation of art on campus in a fun and social environment. Whether you are a skilled artist or just wanting to try something new, we cater to all skill levels and encourage anyone to come along to one of our events and give drawing a go. Thanks to our sponsor Mont Marte, we are able to provide a wide range of art supplies for use by members at every event – or you can bring your own if you’d like. We aim to create an inclusive, largely self-guided art space at most of our events, although we do also host some affordable life drawing, and are looking to hold art classes in the future. Do you have to be good at art to join?

The UQ Drawing Club is open to all – you do not need to have experience in art or be a UQ student (or a student at all) to join.

Do you teach people how to draw?

Not at this stage no… but keep an eye out, as we are looking into the possibility of hosting drawing classes in the future.

Do you guys do anything other than drawing?

We don’t facilitate any other medium other than drawing BUT you are more than welcome to bring along your own materials to our events and work with those!
