UQ BMES welcomes all who are interested in biomedical engineering and technology and wanting to explore or work within the field. With new study pathways for biomedical engineering at UQ introduced in 2021, BMES provides a social platform for students to connect with their fellow BME students and expand their interest in biomedical engineering.
We are also driven to connect students to biomedical research and industry through our society. Whether you’re looking to make new friends at university, interested in the field or wanting to get connected to research and industry, we encourage you to come join us!

We are the social platform for UQ’s biomedical engineering community, offering social, academic and professional networking events. We will also post opportunities for internships/graduate roles and also design medical device competitions throughout the year.
Absolutely! Last year, we hosted one of the biggest biomedical related networking events in UQ history and more than half of the event participants got into internship/research positions! With a collaboration size of 7 UQ and QUT societies, over 300+ participants and 20+ industry/research groups participated
