UQ Evangelical Students (ES)

Evangelical Students (ES) is a community of Christian students who seek to grow in God’s Word and be trained together to reach the campus and the world for Christ.

Evangelical Students (formerly known as Evangelical Union) is an affiliate member of the Australian Fellowship of Evangelical Students (AFES) which has around 60 affiliate groups on 50 university campuses across Australia. The AFES was a founding member of the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES) which now has a presence in over 150 countries.

We are blessed to have both students and staff serving us at Evangelical Students. Our Student Executive serves us by helping to organise the club within the University, make decisions and organise events. Our staff help us by serving in discipleship, training, decision making and bible teaching. Together, they serve to help ES to GROW and TRAIN students in their faith, so that they can REACH the campus and the world for Christ.

Whether you’re starting uni, wanting to connect with Christians, or simply looking to investigate Jesus – we’re here to help. If you’d like know more, feel free to contact any member of the staff or executive team: We’d be more than happy to chat!

FAQs

Uni Bible Talks: These are our main pubic gatherings where we hear the Bible taught and applied by one of our staffworkers. UBTs run 12pm Tuesday and Wednesday at UQ Chaplaincy | Building 38, Room 102. Stick around for lunch with us in the hour after – everyone’s welcoACme!

Bible Studies: Each week we meet together in faculty-based Bible Study Groups which are open to everyone. Find one that fits your timetable and join us as we read God’s Word and get to know Jesus better and what it means to live for Him.

Events for International Students: English Conversation Club on Tuesdays at 2pm and FOCUS on Friday nights are an opportunity to meet local Australians, other international students and learn about Jesus through studying the Bible. We also have various other camps during the year and different events on during the week. For more information check out our website or Facebook page!
