UQ Handcraft & Art Club (UQHAC)

Are you a seasoned crafter looking to start a hobby business? Or are you a craft newbie looking for new hobbies or to learn a certain craft? Or even if you are just looking to make new friends in uni, you will find what you are looking for in our club!

The UQ Handcraft & Art Club is a hobby community formed in July 2021, since then we have grown to a family of 380 members and still growing. We are a friendly group that organises weekly meetups for socialising and to teach all sorts of crafts; our members can teach other skills such as crocheting, knitting, polymer clay making, and even resin and jewellery making.

No matter your interest, you are bound to make like-minded friends for uni even with life with us! Our signature events per semester include a themed afternoon tea, resin and jewellery workshops, and our weekly market stall where you can sell your own handmade products! Our other semester workshops include:

• Resin coaster making
• Jewellery making
• Candle-making
• Bookmark-making and papercraft
• Pottery classes

For those interested in forming a hobby business, we also offer vision board and entrepreneurship classes and opportunities at our Wednesday market stalls, selling our members handmade jewellery, home décor and others.
If you are looking to enrich your uni life while making your own crafts whether for a business or just to destress, we are the club for you!
