The Harry Potter Alliance is a club for all Witches, Wizards, Squibs and Magical Beings studying at the University of Queensland or living in Brisbane. So fasten your cloaks, keep your wands handy and journey with us into a world of magic!

Welcome to the most magical club on campus! At its heart, the UQ Harry Potter Alliance is a social club for Harry Potter fans. We regularly have a bunch of free events throughout the semester including magical games nights, movie screenings as well as our annual sorting ceremony, dramatic reading competition, trivia night and the Yule Ball! We also have a Quidditch team with training every week that competes against other universities!

At the beginning of the year, our Hogwarts students are sorted into Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin and Ravenclaw and throughout the year there are opportunities to win house points to get closer to the house cup! It is a club for all Witches, Wizards, Squibs and Magical Beings studying at the University of Queensland or living in Brisbane. What day are meetings?

The day changes to make sure members are able to attend at least some of the events. However, they are generally in the evening after most classes.

I haven't read the books/seen all the movies...

No worries! This club is for anyone who has an interest in the world of Harry Potter. You’ve heard of him? (or have a friend that has?) Then you know enough to be a part of the club!

How can I be more involved?

Besides coming along to events, we are often looking for people to help run things on the executive team. Stay behind at an event to help pack up and introduce your self!
