Love history? Keen on meeting like-minded people and making friends? Here for a solid travel-back-in-time blast? The UQ History Society has got you covered!
The UQ History Society supports students in all ways history-related. Whether you study history or simply appreciate past civilisations and cultures, we’ve got something for everyone.
Our friendly executive team run an informal peer mentoring program at our coffee catch ups, where you can seek assistance with your history-related endeavours from other Society members. These coffee catch ups are also a great chance to network and meet your tutors and fellow students! In 2022 we are also holding a Symposium series to showcase our members’ research: come along and listen to what your peers are working on or give a short presentation yourself!
We also publish your history-related work twice a year in our student journal,
Footnote. You can get involved with
Footnote by submitting a piece for publication or by volunteering with the Editorial Board. Check out the link for more info!
If you’re not a history student, don’t fret! We also run wholesome events where you can meet like-minded people and make new friends. From film screenings to trivia nights to our epic end-of-year events (HASS pub crawl and HASS ball, anyone?!), there are plenty of fun and exciting occasions throughout the year to keep you entertained!
