UQ SRC is a running club that is cheap and easy to participate in. We hold weekly meets and run or walk - we don't mind. Grab some mates and keep fit!
UQ SRC aims to cater to running enthusiasts of all skill and experience levels. Whether you are interested in fitness, looking to get into running, or already quick on your feet, we run at any speed to suit your fitness level.
We usually chat as we run, getting to know new members or catching up with regulars. To keep things fresh, we like to change up our meeting locations every so often and try out new and exciting routes. Be sure to check out our Facebook page to keep up to date with meeting locations. We have a variety of runs including both morning and afternoon sessions as well as weekly interval training and long runs. In addition to these, we participate in ‘Parkrun’ events together, which are free timed 5km races held on Saturdays at 7am in parks across Brisbane. In the past, we have formed teams and trained to participate in the Bridge to Brisbane (10km) and UQ Twilight Running Festival (21.1km), meeting up afterwards to hang out and refuel at a food spot. Occasionally one of our weekly runs will be a ‘Red Room Run’, where after our usual 5km, we all head over to the Red Room, put on a bar tab and grab some food and drinks together.
