UQ Climate & Energy (UQ CnE)

Our goal at CnE is to provide a platform for open discussion and education around energy and increase the energy literacy amongst the UQ community. This is achieved through our wide array of events and programs.

We offer our members three main opportunities throughout the semester. They are the consulting program, engagement nights and SENergy.

Consulting Program
An 8 week program focusing on developing critical thinking and problem solving skills. Participants work in teams on a small-scale energy research project under the guidance of an academic. This program is eligible for engineering professional practice hours.

Engagement Night
A casual session to increase the knowledge base of student members. Academics or Industry members are invited to speak about their journey or a specific topic in regard to the energy sector. SEN members are provided the opportunity to connect with energy experts outside of class.

SENergy
Senergy brings students from a diverse range of societies to foster healthy discussions. The event is an inter-disciplinary student-led discussion featuring a panel of student leaders addressing the issue from their society’s perspectives and biases. Participants include:

UQ Society of Petroleum Engineers
Fossil Free UQ
Engineers without Borders
UQ South Pacific Islander Association
UQ Politics, Philosophy and Economics
