UQ Japan Exchange (UQJX)

Q Japan Exchange is the official Japanese language and culture society on campus at UQ St Lucia. Our mission is to create a fun and open space for cultural and language exchange between Japan, Australia and the rest of the world. We hold a variety of social, academic, and business events aimed at bringing our members closer together, whilst creating everlasting relationships and memories!

Brisbane-Asian Student Association (BSA International)

BSA International (Brisbane-Asian Student Association), formerly known as Borneo Student Association is a multicultural student social club primarily based at the University of Queensland. We aim to create a supportive community and welcoming environment for Brisbane-Asian students. By becoming a BSA member, students are able to connect with each other, learn about other cultures and make lifelong friendships at our social events.

Latin American Student Association (LASA)

UQ LASA- UQ Latin American Student Association. THINK FUN, THINK LATIN! UQ LASA brings Latin American culture, tradition and languages to university life. We are the bridge between Australian and international students on campus.

UQ Korean International Students’ Society (UQKISS)

UQKISS is a student-run, non-profit UQ Society and our primary objective is to create a vibrant and inviting environment/experience based on Korean culture for students. We aim to conduct various events, whether its social or personal and professional development, to unite students who hold a common interest and let them create valuable university experience and build life-long relationships.

UQ Malaysian Students’ Association (UQMSA)

The University of Queensland Malaysian Students’ Association (UQMSA) is an official and non-profit student body based at the UQ St. Lucia campus. With close to 600 members each academic year, UQMSA hosts the largest number of Malaysian students in Queensland as well as students from various ethnic backgrounds.

UQ German Club (UQGC)

The UQ German Club or UQGC is a multi-award winning, student-run society that aims to promote German language and culture on campus and in the wider Brisbane community. Our dedicated group of student executives run a number of events throughout the year that include language activities (Kaffee Klatsch, Bier und Sprechen, etc), movie nights, BBQs and cultural trips to events such as Oktoberfest. The club is inclusive of all language abilities and welcomes new members with open arms. Furthermore, we work closely with the dynamic German community in Brisbane, providing countless opportunities for our members to be involved in. UQGC celebrated its’ 10-year anniversary in 2022 and is ever growing and thriving.

UQ Gatton International Students Association (UQGISA)

UQ GISA serves to assist new international students, helping them to adjust to campus life and culture shock, through organized activities. This association also helps bring awareness to the campus about international foods, culture, and diversity through events throughout the year. The University of Queensland Indian Student Club is a vibrant community celebrating Indian heritage in Queensland through cultural, festival and networking events. Our renowned experiences include Masti, Dosti, Garba Night, Eid Celebration and the grand “Once Upon a Time” Ball. Along with our focus on sharing the diverse cultures of India, we are committed to charitable endeavours for communities in need.

UQ Chinese Students and Scholars Association (UQCSSA)

The University of Queensland Chinese Students and Scholars Association (UQCSSA) is a non-profit, non-religious, non-political Chinese student and scholar association. UQCSSA welcomes all, especially UQ Chinese students and scholars to join our organization, participate in our activities, engage in Sino-Australia cultural exchanges, and contribute to the development of campus culture.

The University of Queensland South Pacific Islander Association (UQSPIA)

The University of Queensland’s South Pacific Islander Association was established in November 2014. UQ SPIA is a university society embodying culture, community, and challenge. It endeavours to empower and equip Maori and Pacific Islanders on and off campus to embrace their culture, build strong community bonds, and to challenge the existing barriers and stereotypes facing Pacific Islanders.
