UQU has been providing food & beverage offerings to UQ students and staff for over 80 years. Over the years, our operations have grown and so has our commitment to operating a sustainable and ethical business.

As the largest food & beverage provider at the University of Queensland, we are committed to:

Reducing plastic footprint on campus.

Introducing environmentally friendly single-use packaging at new UQU owned and operated outlets going forward.

Encouraging the use of reusable coffee cups, straws and cutlery.

Strive to use ingredients that are in season, organic, locally sourced and grown and sustainability farmed where possible.

Here’s a snapshot of how our outlets are being sustainable and ethical in its practices:

Removal of plastic straws and only paper straws available.
