My name is Josh Marsh and I am honored to serve as your UQU Treasurer for 2023. As a student of Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE) with a research background in Artificial Intelligence and Political Science, I am passionate about using my skills and knowledge to ensure that your money is spent effectively and efficiently, for the betterment of all students.
My role as Treasurer is a significant responsibility, overseeing the management of a budget of $6.4 million in SSAF funds and other funding sources. I am delegated general responsibility for the financial and commercial services of the Union, with responsibility for overseeing the operations of UQU’s 11+ outlets. I am committed to securing the financial future of the Union for years to come.
I understand that every student plays a crucial role in keeping UQ Union running, from buying a beer at the RedRoom to attending events hosted by our Clubs and Societies. After the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, my priority is to continue the work of rebuilding the Union’s financial position and profitability, while ensuring that the services we offer to students remain affordable and fulfilling.
I am deeply committed to this goal and I believe that by working together, we can ensure that UQU remains a vital part of the university experience for all students. If you have any questions or concerns about the Union’s financial management or operations, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
