Here is a description relating to our Student Executives

VP Gender & Sexuality - UQU 2022 Executive

Hey there! I’m Marisha (pronouns she/her or xe/xyr) and I’m one of your Gender & Sexuality Vice Presidents this year. I’m currently a third-year student doing my Bachelor in Math/Computer Science, with a specific focus on Data Science.

As the Queer Officer, I want UQ to be a safe and welcoming environment for queer and LGBTQIA+ students, and to foster a diverse community where we can find and support each other. This will be achieved through a myriad of events run by and for queer and LGBTQIA+ students, fostering connections in the varied queer and LGBTQIA+ spaces offered by the union, and launching initiatives to help fight the injustices that queer and LGBTQIA+ students face (both on and off campus).

If you haven’t been already, I highly suggest you visit the Carden Queer Room if you’re at St. Lucia or the Gatton Queer Space if you’re at Gatton. Additionally, joining the Queer Collective Facebook Group or Queer Collective Discord Server is a great way to get in touch with the community whether you are an internal or external student. All of these spaces offer a host of resources to aid queer and LGBTQIA+ students as well as being a safe space where you can be yourself, without judgement.

Feel free to reach out to me at any time on the Queer Collective Instagram or Facebook page, or say hi in Carden when I’m there. You can also get in touch with me at
