Here is a description relating to our Student Executives

Secretary - UQU 2020 Executive

My name is Bek and I am studying a dual Journalism/Communications degree (majoring in Public Relations) which I expect to finish by the end of 2021. In 2020, I will be your UQ Union Secretary.

Since I started at UQ, I have been active within Clubs and Societies (C&S) and regularly engaged with campus culture. In 2019 I was the UQ Union Vice President for C&S and was able to see first hand the positive impact that student involvement and leadership can have on the student experience. I am passionate about the UQ Union and the variety of beneficial services and programs that we provide to students, and am therefore very excited to be taking on the role of Secretary in 2020 and for the opportunity to work towards improving the student experience at UQ.

The UQ Union is an 112-year-old institution and as Secretary, I am excited to continue its legacy of supporting and promoting students. UQ students are at the heart of everything we do, and it is our job to ensure that students leave the university with more than just a degree – with lifelong friends, lasting memories and a valued sense of identity. The UQ Union also acts as the peak representative for the student body at UQ, and I consider it a huge privilege to be representing, supporting and advocating for you as you study at UQ in 2019.

University life brings with it an ever changing atmosphere and array of experiences, and we are here to support you throughout it all.
