Here is a description relating to our Student Executives

VP Clubs & Societies - UQU 2019 Executive

I am studying a dual Journalism/Communications degree (majoring in PR for the communications degree). I am expecting to finish my degree by the end of 2021.

I wanted to be a part of the Union as I wanted to be able to give back to an organisation that has given me so much over my time at UQ. As someone that has been involved in Clubs and Societies (C&S) for a number of years, I have been able to experience first hand the difference they can make on your time at University. I wanted to be involved so that I could contribute to the C&S portfolio and provide more students with the opportunity to get involved, meet new people and experience all the benefits that C&S has to offer!

The Clubs and Societies portfolio means a great deal to me as it has contributed to my University experience to a large extent during my time at UQ. It allows individuals from a variety of backgrounds to come together and create meaningful opportunities and memories for fellow students. I am passionate about C&S as there is a club for everyone, and because the UQ Union C&S community is one that is encouraging and supportive to all students.

During my time as the Vice President for Clubs and Societies, I hope to create a variety of opportunities for both club executives and general members. I aim to provide professional development opportunities for C&S, further develop the strengths of the clubs and societies program and build upon its reputation as one of the best elements of UQ campus life.
